Community Assembly for a United South End is formed.

(Spring) Describing itself as a “group of South End Residents who are concerned about the extent to which outsiders make crucial decisions which affect our lives,” CAUSE hold its meeting in the USES building at 48 Rutland Street, in which Mel King and his family have lived for the last decade. The organization goes on to promote tenants’ interest in responding to the Boston Redevelopment Authority and its proposed South End urban renewal plan.
